These videos show you everything you need to know to make and use a Twizz.

What can you expect?

Twizzdom has a lot of similarities to LessonUp, but there are also important differences. Because we are in the beta test phase there will be regular site updates. We are also creating content which will be made available to you. At the moment we are adding our English grammar lessons, so lessons for Dutch primary schools and also a series of English language biology lesson for the lower secondary school classes.

The main differences.

We aim to create a large proportion of the lesson material ourselves. We have a content team whose sole job is making educational material. Teachers can request lessons that they would like, and our team will do their best to make it. Please see the guidelines for submitting lesson requests

We can also source images and videos from Shutterstock. If you have a particular request for a video or image, please supply a Shutterstock ID number. Due to copyright restrictions, all images and videos will remain the property of Holmwoods BV and can only be used in Twizzes we make for you.

Twizzdom has games that can be played interactively in class. At the moment there are just two games, but later there will be many more. The games are powered by creating quizzes. Please see screencast here:

What would we like you do?

  1. Use and adapt the lessons we have made.

 We already have a list of features that we want to implement, but we are sure that there are other things that we have not thought about.

Features planned for 2026 

 

  • Some widgets (interactive elements) 
  • Project sessions, single pin code 
  • Polls. Single question, with different answer options (“yes/no”, multiple choice, open) and different results options (table, pie chart, bar graph, word cloud).
  • Downloadable resources e.g. pdf for teacher viewer 
  • Project organization, browsing pages 
  • Filtering 
  • Categories 
  • Grouping projects 
  • User signup/registration pages, forgot password page, email notification system
  • A teacher can select slides or specific content that will be shown on the student viewer. If a slide does not have student content, their screen will be blank. 
  • Downloadable resource (e.g. pdf) for student viewer 

Known Problems

Well there are loads of things we know we need to do, but here are a few that bug me. (excuse the pun)

The filter on the search doesn’t work. You can just search with a word.

Wat kun je verwachten?

Twizzdom heeft veel overeenkomsten met LessonUp, maar er zijn ook belangrijke verschillen. Omdat we ons in de bètatestfase bevinden, zullen er regelmatig updates van de website plaatsvinden. We maken ook lesmateriaal dat voor jou beschikbaar zal worden gesteld. Op dit moment voegen we onze Engelse grammaticalessen toe, dus lessen voor Nederlandse basisscholen, en ook een serie Engelstalige biologielessen voor de onderbouw van het voortgezet onderwijs.

De belangrijkste verschillen

We streven ernaar een groot deel van het lesmateriaal zelf te maken. We hebben een contentteam waarvan de enige taak is om educatief materiaal te ontwikkelen. Docenten kunnen lessen aanvragen die zij graag zouden willen hebben, en ons team zal zijn best doen om die te maken. Bekijk hiervoor de richtlijnen voor het indienen van lesaanvragen.

We kunnen ook afbeeldingen en video’s van Shutterstock gebruiken. Als je een specifiek verzoek hebt voor een video of afbeelding, geef dan het Shutterstock-ID-nummer door. Vanwege auteursrechtelijke beperkingen blijven alle afbeeldingen en video’s eigendom van Holmwoods BV en mogen ze alleen worden gebruikt in Twizzes die wij voor jou maken.

Twizzdom heeft spellen die interactief in de klas gespeeld kunnen worden. Op dit moment zijn er nog maar twee spellen, maar later zullen dat er veel meer worden. De spellen worden aangestuurd door het maken van quizzen. Bekijk hiervoor de screencast hier:

Wat zouden we graag willen dat je doet?

  • Gebruik de lessen die wij hebben gemaakt en pas ze aan.
  • Maak je eigen lessen.
  • Geef ons feedback en suggesties.

We hebben al een lijst met functies die we willen implementeren, maar we weten zeker dat er ook andere dingen zijn waar we nog niet aan hebben gedacht.
